The Healthy Kids Fun Run has offered kids ages 5 to 12 an amazing experience to get active in the one mile fun run annually held in Arlington, VA, the day before the MCM. 3,600 kids from over 300 schools will jump at the chance to participate while reaching their goals and finishing alongside their classmates, friends, and siblings.
The opening ceremonies begin at 9 a.m., with the waves of kids running from 9:30 a.m. to 11:40 a.m.

Not only does the Healthy Kids Fun Run offer plenty of action, it lends the opportunity to bring special programming to schools while capturing funding for physical education.

The Marine Corps Marathon was established in 1976 and is currently the third largest marathon in the United States and the eighth largest in the world. The race field of 30,000 is composed of runners from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and more than 50 countries. Known as “The People’s Marathon,” the MCM is open to all runners ages 14 and above and is the largest marathon that does not offer prize money.
